          Dr. Subhan Ali Akab had submitted his dissertation to Pune University in 1998. His guide was Dr. Shrikant Wagh & Research center was Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Pune, (M.S.) India.

          Dr. Subhan Ali Akab in his research work tried to study Antitussive effect of pathyadiyog in cough (doshaja kasa)

          Clinical study was carried out in 54 cases out of these 3 cases are dropped. Patients with Kshayaja & Kshataja kasa were excluded. Also patients having tuberculosis, bronchiectasis & severely ill were also excluded. Pregnant women & lactating mothers were also excluded. Patients taking medicine for other disease were not included for the study.

          The dose of  Tab Pathyadiyog was two tablets (each tablet 250 mg) three hourly for achushan means used as lozenges.

          Some of the contents of pathyadiyog are musta (Cyperus rotundus) shunthi (Zinzibar officinale) & jaggery (Guda)

          The study was concluded as follows-
Tab Pathyadi yoga 2 tab 3 hourly when used as Lozenges showed good results to reduce Cough .Tab contains Musta,Dry Ginger & jaggery  
          The drug is effective for the treatment of doshaj kasa as an antitussive drug in the dose of 500 mg 3 hourly for achushan.
There were no side effects of Pathyadivati during treatment. The drug showed excellent effect in kaphanishthivan and pain but is less effective in Swarabheda like symptoms.
